REGULATORY PERMITS
3.1 Spatial planning at sea
Licences for establishing OWFs can only be
granted for areas designated as development zones for renewable energy in the
Danish Maritime Spatial Plan or in amendments to the Maritime Spatial Plan.
The Maritime Spatial Plan is issued digitally
on www.havplan.dk in accordance with the
Danish Act on Maritime Spatial Planning.

covers areas for existing renewable energy
and pending applications, as well as areas
designated for renewable energy based on
screenings for offshore wind potential.1
The Danish government is expected to
present an updated Maritime Spatial Plan
during spring 2023.
