Guidelines have been prepared for each of
these Promotion Zones specifying the
relevant matters for implementing public
offerings for them and occupying sea areas
within them. Business operators that intend
to submit a bid in a public offering must do
so by following the relevant guidelines. Out
of the five Promotion Zones mentioned
above, business operators have already been
selected for four Promotion Zones via public
offerings in areas offshore from Goto (in
June 2021) and Noshiro, Yurihonjo and
Choshi (in December 2021).

The supply prices of the last three newly
selected businesses were 13.26 yen/kWh
(Noshiro), 11.99 yen/kWh (Yurihonjo), and
16.49 yen/kWh (Choshi).
The selected business operator for the
following Promotion Zones (1) through (3) is
a consortium composed of Mitsubishi
Corporation (“MC Group”). MC Group is
using General Electric windmills
(approximately 13MW) for all three
Promotion Zones4 .
