a)The amount of the Feed-in Premium
(referred to as the supply promotion grant,
or kyoukyu-sokushin-koufukin in
Japanese; “FIP”) is decided every month
based on as follows:
FIP = premium unit price (which means
the FIP price – the reference price*) x the
amount of renewable electricity energy
supply

he reference price is determined
automatically by the market price, etc.
b)The FIP is calculated and paid in
accordance with the following steps:
i.confirmation of annual average
market price for the previous year;
ii.confirmation of the reference price
and confirmation of the premium
unit price for the current month
(i.e., before adjustment);
iii.confirmation of the fixed premium
unit price for the current month
(i.e., after adjustment); and
iv. confirmation and payment of the
FIP for the current month.
c)The table below shows the current
prices per kWh based on statements
announced by the chair of the study
group on the procurement price for
offshore wind power (4 February
2022). Note METI has not confirmed
these prices yet.
